012 – Mr. N. Ariyawansha

Mr. N. Ariyawansha is the third Rahula old boy who became the principal of Rahula College. He did his work successfully, until the diamond jubilee of Rahula College.

He entered Rahula College in 1955 for his secondary education. He entered University of Peradeniya in 1959. In 1963, he left the university and became a teacher and entered Thalpavila Maha Vidyalaya and Godapitiya Maha Vidyalaya. After that he became the principal of Bopagoda Maha Vidyalaya, and worked there until 1972. In 1990, he became the principal of Rahula College.

He restarted many associations in Rahula College, and started the reference library of Rahula College, which was a deficiency to Rahula College. He started the prize giving of Rahula College, which was stopped. And he worked to publish “Rahula” magazine that was not published with in last 12 years. He opened the hostel which was closed for few years.

Computer facility, beauty of the surroundings, medals and other things that whored by the school band, can be named as the things that were introduced during his time.

The premises of Sudarshana Model School, Welegoda was handed over to the college for the primary section. It was a big challenge for him to administrate two places same time. But he did his work successfully.
