One year progress of the Rahal Randaru Scholarship Fund.

The above fund was established on 28th November 2008 depositing Rs. 170,000.00

This brief assessment will help the viewers to get an overall idea how it has been progressed.

The active involvement of the principal, Mr. Kithsiri Liyanagamage,the necessary guidance given by the treasurer, deputy principal H.W. Rathnayaka and genuine attempts made by the secretaries specially Mrs. Padma Hatharasinghe & Miss. Pushparani Hettiarachchi, the great adviser Mr K.P.G.W. Prelis. have made the initial amount doubled.

Now the amount is Rs. 350,000.00

The profit gained by investing money for child’s education is immeasurable.
Though the people are wealthy, they all have no any idea to uplift the life of another unknown human being. But there are only few who have sensitive hearts.

We pay our gratitude for such valuable well wishers who helped us to implement the idea of enabling the students to continue their studies passing the barriers of money.

2009.01.29 – Launched the program of donating money. On that occasion, some invitees gave money and gift packs for the selected students.

• Sampath Madushanka (Grade 12 Art) – Rs. 2000.00

Two old boys of Rahula, Mr. M.B. Premathilaka of 84/32 , Ruhuna Niwasa , Rahula road , Matara. and Mr.N.D. Prematthilaka of No 63 , Thekkawatta, Kekanadura. give a monthly donation of Rs 1500 a period of one year.

Two students were selected for this donation and saving accounts were opened in the Bank of Ceylon Matara.

According to the criteria of selecting eleven applicants from grade 12 were named for receiving money. The principal Mr. Kithsiri Liyanagamage gave this donation for the following students – Rs. 2500.00 each. Total sum Rs. 27500.00.

Six students who have entered the university in 2009 have been selected to give Rs. 5000.00 each, at the annual prize giving 2009.

Old boys of Rahula college always try to keep the dignity of Rahula. So why do we let the young Rahulians suffer a lot to continue the education? They are standing behind you.

One of the greatest sun of mother Rahula Dr. Thamindu Liyanage – Neprologist works in Australia has given Rs 5000.00 monthly. Starting from November 2009.

The committee helps to give Rs.1000.00 monthly for the five students from this deposit. At the end of this year we have allocated Rs. 67,500.00 for the scholars.

Our wish is to make this number doubled within next year.

It is a life long benefit and our nation becomes wise if you donate some money for this Rahal Randaru fund. See the plant grows by nursing it timely and correctly, all will get the advantage when it bears fruit.
