I consider it a great privilege to issue this message on the occasion of “Battle of Two Cities 2011″, the cricket encounter between St. Aloysius’ College, galle and Rahula College, Matara at Uyanwatta Stadium.
The noble purpose of formulating such an encounter is to boost moral conduct and convey our children more valuble lesson of accepting both victory and defeat in the same spirit. Cricket is a fantastic game which teaches every player a lesson of disipline, patience and spirit.
It is with great pleasure that I recollect the international fame earned by promising cricketers of The College, Pramodya Wickramasinghe, Mahinda Ekanayaka, I.C. Gamage and Suraj Randiv on this historical event.
It is my fervent prayer that this big match would continue as an annual event for many more years and trailblazer for the future of two schools.
